AI Ethics Statement

Published April 2026  ·  PREPT AI, San Antonio, TX

The short version: PREPT AI is a preparation and reference tool. We help qualified candidates communicate their genuine experience more clearly and confidently. We do not fabricate credentials, manufacture experience, or encourage users to violate their employer's stated interview terms.

The debate we're part of

AI assistance during job interviews is an active, unresolved conversation in employment. We are aware of it. We are not going to pretend it doesn't exist or that every employer treats AI reference tools the same way. Some employers are neutral. Some are opposed. Regulations in some jurisdictions are evolving (California SB 1001, New York City Local Law 144, Illinois AIVIA).

We built PREPT AI because we believe the job market is structurally unfair to qualified candidates who lack access to coaching, preparation resources, or insider knowledge about how hiring systems work. A senior candidate at a well-funded company gets mock interviews, resume coaching, and recruiter feedback before they ever reach a final round. Most candidates get none of that. PREPT AI is our attempt to close that gap.

What PREPT AI is

What PREPT AI is not

Our position on employer terms

Interview terms vary widely. Many employers have no policy on reference use during interviews. Some explicitly prohibit third-party assistance. A smaller number use proctoring software designed for one-way recorded interviews.

We ask every user to review the terms of their specific employer before their interview. Our in-product onboarding includes a reminder to do this. We believe using PREPT AI as a reference aid — the way you might use notes, a second monitor, or a preparation checklist — is consistent with most professional interview norms. We also believe that candidates who are in doubt about their employer's specific terms should ask, or err on the side of caution.

Our recommendation: Review your employer's interview terms before your session. If you are unsure whether AI reference tools are permitted, consider disclosing that you are using reference notes. We believe transparency about your preparation process is the stronger professional choice.

On data and privacy

We store no interview transcripts, no resume content, and no coaching session data beyond your active session. When your session ends, that data is discarded. This is not a marketing claim — it is an architectural decision we made at the product level. We have no database of your interview answers. We cannot hand over what we do not have.

Our sub-processors are Stripe (payments), Supabase (authentication), and our LLM provider for real-time coaching. None of these sub-processors receive your interview content in identifiable form.

Regulatory awareness

We monitor developments in employment AI law. As jurisdictions introduce disclosure requirements or new employer-side rules, we will update our product and terms accordingly. If you are applying for a role covered by a jurisdiction with specific AI disclosure requirements, please review those requirements independently.

Questions and feedback
